Default 502 Mpi procharger to 540

im interestd in buying a 1998 scarab 29 that has a 502 mpi with a M-1 procharger on it !! Here in malta the curent and humidity are a setback for speed thats why it only goes 65 mpi with 3.5 of boost with 87 octane fuel !!! 87 octane is all we have here in malta.. Is it possible to stroke it to 540 for more power ????????
And what othere modifications will i have to do with the Ecu etc ?????
The Ecu ir remaped already cause of the procharger .....
I also thought of raising the X dimension 2 inches cause its very very low .....
What to you guys have to say about this ...... Really need your help !!! Thanks

I'm not sure the M1 would support the 540 ??? the whole fuel and oil systems need to be redone as well as some work on the fuel rails with merc EFI. eddie young can fill you in on these, aftermarket EFI would be a far better choice and could be tuned better in my opinion..sure other may thing otherwise...to raise the X is going to require a LOT of work...shorter drive might be a better choice, or a better hull.

procharger is too small, your injectors will need to be changed and a remap of the fuel/spark maps.fuel rail needs to be modded on 1 port, think port 7 but a quick look will show you the small hole,,unless you have a newer style fuel rail.

x 2 !
I looked Malta up earlier too...Seems like a great place !

Edit in: maybe not summer for me. But there seems to be a 8 month window in the year this northern white boy would truly enjoy.

I belive my friend left his stock,,we just kept upping the power of the 502,we got him to 80mph but was really loose.built a 540 w/ the same cam and comp, did an easy 82mph w/ a loose 84-85mph.then he sold the boat.
I be dropping off his world product heads I did for him(I hate those head, did I say that before ) I'll tell him to chime in w/ more details.
