6.2 Info
Can anyone tell me where I can find info on the 6.2s. I am looking for cam profile in particular. I have some very general info. Thanks Dwight

6.2 Cam
I don't know anything about the 6.2 litre camshaft except that it is different than the 350 camshaft. I don't think we will ever really know unless one of us has one measured. Getting camshaft specs from Mercuiser is impossible (first you have to explain to the Mercruiser tech people what a camshaft is! ). The Merc # is 431-862562T1

Thanks Dennis and I appreciate your contribution here on the board, I am working on ideas to gain about 100 hp without going supercharger. Seems to me that if merc can get 320 at prop with such a mild sounding cam, there can be more ponies found with a stronger cam. At idle my engines are very smooth. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks Dwight

Mercuiser service school
When I was up at the Merc school in Hayward last Feb the instructors were telling us about the assembly line merc has set up in Stillwater for the 6.2. The line is U shaped and a stock 350 is setup on one end and the crank, rods, bearings, pistons, rings, camshaft and oil pan are replaced. Everything else is standard 350.
The 6.2 leaves the line on the other end with;
A Kellogg 4340 forged steel crankshaft (3.75 stroke) with large fillets on the main and rod journals and special matching bearings.
Single piece crankshaft key.
Powder forged 5.7 rods with the rods ground down for lobe clearance and special chamfered rod bolt nuts.
High lift camshaft (what it is I don't know!)
Hypereutectic cast aluminum pistons.
Special oil pan to clear the longer stroke.
Hope this helps, I pulled it out of a new products information book
they gave me.
Sincerely

I thought they only used the forged crank on the Scorpion 360 hp motor, {along with different heads and cam} I guess I am wrong then if they used it on the stock 6.2 then
