Your talking about WD on SRP BBC J/E's right? The SRP's J/E's I got from CNC were like 429$ shipped to my door and the inverted dome BBC regular J/E's were 635$ or so , I looked for a friend though again a few months ago and same set was 769$ or something, I have paid just over $700 for the inverted dome je's in past and though I got a decent deal, pays to shop around if your buying big dollar parts and willing to go thru a little inconvienence.

Thats a smokin deal IF a guy can get WD pricing, my engine machinist looked at what I paid at the time and pulled out a price sheet , he only gets jobber pricing but I think his price schedu;ing showed wd and he was surprised at what I paid for the inverted dome 257943 at 635 incl sh, what I paid might have even been a little higher, I ll have to look, thanks, Smitty

CNC shows them for 776$ now which I imagine is racer net. I spend in excess of 50,000 a year on automotive parts BUT 90% of that is transmission parts/ torque convertors and general repair parts, i have never been able to keep any good discounts on speed parts though due to just not having enough volume, Smitty

My Atech account requires 10K a year minimum to keep the account active but they are not always cheeper, sometimes Jegs regular prices are lower depending on the item. Jegs use to be on the same delivery schedule but in the past year or so some of their in stock orders have taken up to 3 days to arrive. The best part of both is the no shipping or drop ship fees some of the other suppliers charge.

Thats what i found w keystone and motor state brian, my minimum was hard to maintain and i only bought enough to qualify for non stocking jobber so half the time the parts were more than i could find them if i shopped around

It isn't quite that simple. I tried to do that. They wanted me to buy $5000 worth before agreeing to give me a wholesale account. I am a legit auto service business. They had more than enough references to validate my purchasing claims from other vendors. I wasn't about to drop that kind of coin for a wholesale account.

He's lucky they haven't caught it, which is weird with computers and such.
Whole reason for the minimum is so people like your buddy don't get a resale discount for not reselling much or anything.
Every distributor is set up this way obviously. Manufacturers too, and thus the reason for distributors. Being a dealer for a manufacturer in many cases is a ton. 5k, 10k, or more...depending
Up to say 8 yrs ago or so, I used to get too many calls on "I have a shop, what's my discount." 9 out of 10 times or more, it was just someone with a racecar. So I could only imagine with the distributors.
ArcticFriends, just checked my last years totals, and it was almost exactly 200K in parts purchases for resale. LOL.
