Are HP500 intakes brass lined?
#7
I have the engines out of the boat and am going to be moving forward with heads/cams (remember our email discussion which was very helpful).
I have the Weiand single planes now, and have heard there were better options available now. My thought was that if HP500 dart intakes were brass lined they would work good for me, as I am in brackish water, although I trailer and flush everytime, and have run straight aluminum intakes for years with no issue so not a big deal.
I haven't decided but was thinking of going with the Dart hp500 style, Edelbrock victor jr., or even the professional products dart knock offs. Or I could stay with the Weiands if they are adequate.
Any thoughts?

Because of reduced plenum volume with smaller displacement, or design? What about the old Weiands from the 420s? They don't have an air gap, and have the exhaust crossover. They appear to be a smaller single plane.

Teague sells brass lined Merlins. Their site shows both of the 9.8 versions as being out of stock.
