#4 in the link I gave, or in your original schematic is the seal. The steering pin goes up through it and into 2 bushings, a larger one then a small one.

took a closer look at my Gimbal yesterday , there's no play at all side to side ! Almost no corrosion either but the brushed on attemps at replacing some of the powder coat peeling makes the thing look disgusting..

Anyhow my concern is I have up down play on the ring ! not much about 1/8''... I stared at the diagram and correct me if I am wrong but that slop could be because of a missing washer or loose lever nut on top I guess ? ... That would also explain why the seal is not sealing so well I imagine , what do you guys think ?
