Also is champion rv8c the best plug to run? Never been a big fan of champion plugs but the motor seems to run ok. Its 502 carb'd motor. Dont know alot about it. Plugs looked ok when i pulled em to check what was in it. Just trying to give it a tune up before the season starts.

Yes I already know champion plugs in any engine as I have started a backlash with this post, but I have never had a problem running RV15YC4 gapped correctly in any marine engine that calls for them.
RV15YC4 is a better cross to RV8C non Vortec heads and some Ford Marine engines takes these same plugs. These have a projected nose tip that extends deeper into the cyc head / deeper in the combustion chamber for a better idle and burning off deposits - hence better against plug fouling.
Vortec heads is RS12YC marine apps
Actually Some Volvo Penta and OMC marine apps recommend using the Champion spark plug over AC and NGK, they even have SB's about using them. Matter of fact many 2000 and back year models OMC outboards you can ONLY use Champion spark plugs. Just saying
You better make sure you are using the correct model spark plug. What year and what is the engine exactly plus stock heads, anything not stock ? Engine serial number ???

You can use NGK or AC
NGK should be BR6FS and here is the champion catalog
