Default K1 tech vs molnar

Just wondering if anyone has used any of the molnar cranks and rods. From what I understand Tom I think it is split off from k1 and went on his own. Any insight on this would be great.

Thats correct. I know a few who have used the molnar rods, and been very happy with them.

Tks for the response. I see there here in Michigan and would like to try them out on my 598 build. They look like there along the line of all the other middle of the road rods and cranks. I'm going to call and make sure their cranks are close to spot on and finish ground here in MI. I will keep you informed with my conversation with hem as well. I just don't want my machine shop giving me the evil eye when I drop off rotating assm for balancing and checking all tolerances etc.

Second hand info, but I hear good things. Local machinist has been fairly impressed by them as far as accuracy/tolerance goes. Did some research on them for a build I was considering and probably would have went with them. On par or better than other China casting/forging pieces finished in US.

Why don't ask Valako or Dick about these? Seeing that Molnar is in both of their backyard, they should know what is up.

Valako heard of the K1's but never used. He pointed me toward Ohio crankshaft. I know they have some decent stuff but have heard some not so good either. I think it all comes down to quality control and management which can change from time to time. Seems like whenever something brakes individuals have a tendency to always blame the parts however good machining, tolerances, and the best balance job can prevent a lot of granading. Lol.

Didn't call dick at More Power cause he woulda sold me all top of the line Callie's. Can't swing that at the moment.

I have spoken with Tom Molnar about 1 year ago----he used to work for Oliver in the Grand Rapids area.
