Like I agreed there out there but when it boils right down to its not simple. It's more about trial and error and tuning. The internet makes it sound simple well I'd say 98% of them advertised builds we read about are BS. Even Jim v mentioned last week it's not as easy as most think. 540/700@6k. Sure it's possible but just not go get this that and the other thing and make 700.

Gterdunn - as far as I know the only ones whom designs actual cam lobes are the manufacturer.

Did I screw up and say billy bob big block designs lobes somewhere? If I did it was unintentional. There's only a handful but I'd dare to bet I could design a lobe and grind it and harden all under the same roof and last longer than some I've seen recently. Lol.

Would make a cool ring and a good tooth buster. Keep that.

JB weld that puppy back together, hit the rough spots with a little 80 grit and your good to go...

vintage chromoly 01-10-2017 06:04 PM

Whew! Thanks guys!
I was thinking JB weld also, but I was going to heat treat it with my trusty burnzamatic torch.
