Why do you have so much anger when someone asks a question or gives you advice? Most of the time I bring up valid points you either ignore it or fly off the handle WHY?
How do these treads go so long?

Either way I only have time to monitor and involve myself with OSO. I enjoy it and occasionally ck out other forums however so few pertain to offshore boats builds. If I was dealing with engine builds on my muscle cars I'd think different. I've yet to see a head, cam, intake combo on yellowbullet that would do any of us any good.

Its all good at first until you become used to it, then we want more, and more, until we are in over our heads and we get out. I hope that never happens to us personally but we try to live below our means. Unfortunately I've been noticing it way to often though in this sport. But hey hopefully they enjoyed the ride while they were on it, cause it sure is an expensive one! There really is no such thing as "Stock" power. There is "lower" power that "appears" more reliable mostly because its.....brand new....and quality built lower power. Its not really fair to compare a new 525merc to the common custom 600-700hp N/A build, nor the Merc 700SCI to a modern Custom Forced Induction engine. NO one is building custom 525hp engines with as nice of parts or craftmanship as the 525, just like no one is building Whipple EFI engines that ONLY make 700hp, most are making 800-1100hp. Plus how many actually build 100% from scratch, the majority of custom builds out there utilize some form of used parts. Let alone the used rigging in boats with custom power. So how is it fair to say that "Stock Mercury" power is SOOOO much more reliable when in reality there's no real proof, IT just seems that way. Mercury and Ilmor build some Great engines that's for sure. There's just not enough apple to apple comparisons out there to really judge if us "googlers" have what it takes to build a Brand New Boat with New Rigging, and New Custom Engines to rival Mercury's so called reliability record.......
