With that info, now keep in mind, that was with a flow cfm, of an average aftermarket bbc head. If I was to go off AFR"s advertised numbers, for the 325 CNC ported head, the program would show for tims 540,

242/248 duration at .050, for a 5500RPM max engine combo. Tim has 241/246. Pretty darn close right? By looking at his dyno sheet, would it be safe to say, his engine was about done making power around 5500?

Maybe its just a coincidence. Or, maybe this program, is halfway accurate.

How about that engine in the article SB posted. 502ci, afr 325's, looking to make max power at 6000rpm. It actually peaked at 6200, but....using a tight lash setup, program says

245/252 @ .050.

That engine, had a 245/250 solid.

Its just a software program, and we all know how computer programmed engine builds can go. At the end of the day, you're exact combo, was spec'd from a combination of software, and gathered data. Problem occures, when you're relying on second hand data, to spec' engines for someone. There's a ton of factors involved.

Its still best to validate things on an engine dyno, making changes 1 at a time. Thats engine development.

you confused me. Its still morning here. Im not following

Joe i just looked at the difference in 502 and 540 which is apprx 8%. Looking at the specs of solid cam in 502 build that was posted and added the 8% into cam numbers. For chits and grins to see what it software/program would show. Just throwing 8% more cam at than the 502.
