Not a Ferd Guy .

But wasn't the thing to do to those 289-302s to make more power was to put some 351 heads on them.

Motor pic. I love this little boat. Straight inboard. 14" draft.

Unfortunately I'm a SBF guy lol. Years ago when there weren't many head choices guys used to use stock 351 Windsor heads. Today with the availability and price of aftermarket heads that practice isn't to common anymore.

Ahhh, yes, the PennYan Tunnel drives,....
Many thought they'd be the cat's azz up here on the St. Lawrence to avoid the rocks,....
Turns out, they're the most fuel Inefficient POS out there,....
They ride like crap, 'n ya can't keep fuel in the tank,...
I see 'em occasionally on craigslist for nearly nothin',...

Must be talking about someone else's Penn Yan. Mine with the right acme prop, light on fuel and by myself will kiss 40 mph.
Won't go through water like my 43 does but the ride ain't that bad. Oh and doesn't burn as much gas either.

Closest thing i have found is a centurian wave . Have only ever seen one in person and 1 for sale.
16' front engine small block powered inboard. Turns on less than a dime and comes out of the hole like a supercharged jet skii. Would love to add one to my collection if anybody stumbles across one just sitting
