With the old motor I was topping out at 60mph with 21p prop. With the new motor , I haven't tried it out yet. Got got to the break in point when the trans seal started leaking. I'm guessing if I prop up to 23p prop, I can get 70-75mph. My nephew has 600 hp with 23 p and he's doing 75 and sometimes 80mph

i had a 81 carrera also just sold it to my buddy last summer its up in new hampshire. my cousin also has a 81 factory race boat. would love to see some pics of you and your nephews boat. your nephews wouldn't happen to be blue and yellow called jus four fun.
