That's it. Look at the o ring area. If you drill it out. It will take out the o ring

F-2 Speedy 03-28-2017 06:30 AM

Pretty sure their talking about drilling it out completely and tap to NPT and installing NPT to AN fitting

Yes. I was about to do that. The way it is cast. You run the drill bit through. It will take out the o ring. I'm just going bore/drill it out just before the angle of the casting.

I just got a call. The hydraulic shop I use found fittings.

F-2 Speedy 03-28-2017 11:10 AM

There's no O-ring on an inverted flare, or at least Ive not seen one

Cole2534 03-28-2017 11:18 AM

I think he means the filter gasket area.

LOL, when I did mine I thought "I should take pictures and write this down somewhere, surely somebody will want to do this again..."

And the day has come.

And I didnt write it down or take pictures.

At least you figured it out!

That's how I took it. But not 100% that's what he meant.

class6 03-28-2017 11:43 AM

That's what I meant. The filter adapter base o-ring gets in the way. If it wasn't. It would have been done.

So, it looks if anyone wants a bigger line size they will have to get an aftermarket filter base.
