Flare to AN adapter

Trying to change oil lines on a 496HO. does anyone know what size the Flare fitting is that Mercury uses. Once i figure that out, I need a adapter to AN.
Thanks

Subscribing. .... Would also like to know. I plan on upgrading mine when I add a Raylar kit.

Might have been missing something over the years, but AN's are done in 1/16 increments. A 1/2 flare is AN-8 or 8/16. AN-10 is 5/8 and AN-12 is 3/4 (10/8)

They do make inverted flare to AN fittings, did this on my 502 mags

are you talking on the adapter pad to block?if so,I'd be drilling it out and converting it to pipe thread and a min of an-8

Actually, Russell makes a 22M adapter that fits the adapter pad then you screw the -10 female over it.

Does it look like this ?

If so, I'd do the same as S30 mentioned above. Hole looks small....boss looks thick enough it could be drilled bigger.

Yep, that's the block oil filter pad adapter. I'll be drillingband retapping mine when time comes.
