Well...How fast???
I would have left the "X" at 17 1/2 no spacer..
old school
and if you on a old TRS (1..50) go 3blade 27lab or even a bravo (1.65) , go 3 blade 29
but
have some old school hynautic h41 and 2 side rams with rear plate for steering.
play the merc tabs and rock her up.... it will do it and the end result will be awesome
did that combo 1979

Had the boat out twice. Once with the wife and it was rough out.
the other time out was with the boys.
I ran it up to 74MPH with 4 people in it. It was riding real wet. I need to get some
solid data and have the prop modified for more bow lift.
Trimming the drive doesn't lift the bow. Pretty sure the higher X contributes to that.
im betting it has low to mid 80's in it with some dialing in and 2 people in the boat.

From what I’ve read the 1.65 drives have more prop slip possibly making it harder to get the front up as well. No biggee. I’m having a tough time getting my chubby pig below 17% prop slip.

I really miss your project updates/pics. That thing is a jewel.

What a shame that all the pics are gone in this thread since photobucket committed suicide. "IMGUR" is a good free photo hosting site.
