I run a 1.50 w/ stock gearcase, so far my best speed on gps is just under 86 mph but have not had a chance to run in really good conditions as far as heat and humidity are concerned.

Hey Indy nice ride. Don't take this wrong you have a great set up going but have you ran your numbers through Bam's prop slip calculater? I do not have near as efficient hull as your Fountain and mine runs at about 15% slip.

yeah, I know the calculated slip is high but as your aware of there is no substitute for on the water testing and believe me, I have tested plenty of props on my boat! My setup has a Simrek multiport drive shower and I have never run it without it to see if it made any difference, I doubt it would. Also I run a lot of pos. trim to get the speed, my trim indicator goes from 1 to 7 and I can trim to 6 without blowing out, it really gets the boat out of the water which is where I see the best speed.

Indy, what is your motor setup other than the Procharger? I'm running a 27 with a stage 1, 502 mag and Stainless Marine exhaust. I have a 27 Hydro and need to start some prop testing next season. I'm seeing 78 to 80 depending on conditions etc. I'va had no chine walk problems and love the ride of this boat at speed.

Mate, I have Stainless Marine exhaust and my ecu was reprogrammed by Precision Marine, I am running 5lbs boost. I reccomend you try a stock Bravo 1 30p rh on your boat, on my boat I got 83 plus on gps which was the best bang for the buck!

Indy,
Sounds like we have pretty much the same setup. I also run 5lbs max and had the ECU reprogramed. I was at the Fountain plant and got to spend a little time with Marty, their rigger/test driver. He suggested a 28 or 30 Bravo. I need to try them next season. Have you run both LH and RH Bravo's?

Mate,
I have run a Bravo 1 30 lh and rh, the rh handles better and was just as fast!

Hey Indy,
With Bravo 1 props you must drop 2 off prop size when using slip calculators . I got that from several prop experts including mercury racing prop lab expert Dennis Cavanaugh . Input 30 as your prop size .Your slip is actually pretty good for a V . I am running a hp500 with stage3 procharger bravo1 32 labbed 5300rpm 89.5 on gps 1.5 xr imco bottom superboat 30y2k and its a lefty, almost identical numbers to you .

jcap, Thanks for the info, sounds like you have your boat dialed in! How much boost are you running? My next step is to upgrade my heads and cam, raise my rev limiter and shoot for 5600 rpm, that should get me around 90 mph. Do you know of anyone that has tried the Imco shorty on a boat like mine? A buddy of mine here has offered to let me try his out, I wonder how that would work on my setup.

I am currently running 5 psi ,it runs great but the boost blew the oil rings and I am now blowing oil (a quart an hour when running hard !) I just pulled the engine and I am having MRD race engines rebuild over the winter. I am hoping for triple digits or at least close .
