Duel cooler bellhousing, paint or no
I am thinking about sealing my bellhousings where coolers are placed in. seams everyone I see they are corroded, can I paint the aluminum inside or not. does it peal or flake off. Even Hardin Marine bellhousing not painted where cooler goes, even the cover is not painted on the inside.
Your thoughts are welcome/ B38 |
only thing thats gonna last is a mil spec type hard anodizing.

If it is prepped well, epoxy holds up pretty well in fresh water.

New ones mebbe the finish will hold up. Recoating the inside of the coolers? Hell no. Strip all remaining finish. It is gonna be full of oil. It ain't gonna rust...

The bell housing holds water. The oil cooler in the bell housing holds oil.

Yes, I'm talking about water cooling jacket. Not oil cooler. 😎
I wish I could do the entire motor inside so corrosion doesn't start ever. pipe dream maybe. |
