that's some funny chit and I here ya. Every now and then I'm on yellow bullet and Straub - Foxwell seem to have it together for the most part and bring some pretty good knowledge to the board. I forgot they got banned or it was before my time here or when I was on a boat break. Just looking for another grind hoping to go in circles at wot. Hah. Actually to compare on dyno.

people over there are seeing thru them,,all they do is take other peoples combo and claim them for their own.been doing it for years,,they have a good data base of what works and what doesn't.its amazing how much power you can make w/ 20% correction factor.

I have seen Foxwell and Straub on drag race forums for years and was surprised to see them on some boat sites as well. They do have some spirited conversations on the forums and glad to know why they are not on this one.

I have had a good overall experience with Chris Straub and Scott Foxwell.
First and most important has been their excellent customer service and communication, before, during, and after!
Second has been their parts reliability....doesn't matter how much power you make if it doesn't last.
Third my RPM and torque curve was on target, and useable for my application, boating style, hull, and props.
I am not saying that they are perfect. Like any company there are good and bad reviews. They did fall short on my peak HP goal but achieved our torque goal, peak rpm, and most importantly reliability. I'm honestly not sure if more "peak" power would benefit my setup especially if I lost somewhere else and since my top speeds and acceleration are in line with what was expected.
They also failed to meet our timeline goals, but who in the Marine industry is on time anyways! What's nice is they included free overnight shipping on parts that were late all while keeping in touch and NOT making up excuses. it's refreshing to hear someone accept responsibility for their own actions.
Chris also did a great job reffering me to other companies offering products they don't. I met some great people and products through these, unfortunately the carburetors he subcontracted failed to perform as promised. Chris and the carb builder fully supported my Dyno tuner through this and when they failed to perform I was given a FULL refund including shipping both directions.

I follow a bunch of Scott Foxwells posts on facebook. The guy is heavy into cylinder heads, porting them, and so on. I am in several groups where there are some pretty big names in cylinder head world, and foxwell chews the fat with the rest of them on cylinder head design, and so on. I watch him talk about different techniques on various valve grinding machines, and things of that nature. Certainly nobody is laughing him out of the room there.
As far as Bob Madera being RUN OFF this site.......Bob was not banned. Bob had every opportunity to defend himself. Instead, he had friends like Brian Orlandi do it for him (until brian found out bobs been lying to him and cost brian tens of thousands of dollars). He sat back watching his current customers, former customers, and potential customers, battle it out online. He sat quietly reading, but man, once you got him on the phone, you sure got an earful about what was going on. I been here 13 years. I can count on my hand, how many times I have seen Bob offer REAL tech advice on the forum, for all to see. Im not talking about some fancy excerpt he pulled from a book and shared, or some "specs" on certain cams, or a post relating to a product he sells. Its not like he was here telling guys how to plumb fuel systems, how to rig #6 boat, what differences prop diameter and rake can make, how to program a custom ignition system, his personal experiences on the water, or anything like that.
Maybe Im nuts, but sorry, I don't think the days of "CALL BOB M" defined a good tech section for DIY'ers here on offshoreonly.

I believe the 1000SC, was pretty much a 900sc, with 12lbs of boost and race fuel. 900sc was 10lbs and 92 octane, and a poker run style engine mercury offered to the public. The 1000sc, I believe was a race course engine. I do not know if it had a larger camshaft . It could have had a 714 lift solid roller in it. Probably not something I would want to run in a pleasure engine.
