Default Boat cover for storage

I need some suggestions for a good LONG-LASTING cover for my boat. This will not be used for trailering. I am tired of buying cheap ones every year. Boat U.S. and West Marine sell a "Hot - Shot" cover that IS made for trailering and storage. It goes for about $340.00. Shoud I try a custom made cover? Any suggestions appreciated......

Bad,
I had a 21' Liberator and got a Hurricane boat cover from Overton's. It was cheaper than a custom locally made cover and it fit like a glove. It was a custom cover which they claim to have about a gazillion patterns . They need your make , model ,year , and size. Also offer three different materials , Sunbrella , Sharkskin , and something else that escapes me at the moment.
I got the Sharkskin and it was light and almost totally impervious to rain , held up good , available in numerous color ,and took about three weeks to get. I'm not sure how big they go

Another place to check is www.rontimco.com. I bought a cover from them for my 31 formula that made it through 2 Ohio winters and was still in good shape for $250.

The hot shot is not water proof. It is only water resistant. If water pools on it, it will soak through.

I had one custom fit about 9 years ago. Made from Top Gun fabric. That stuff lasts for very long time. For a custom fit cover try www.boatcoversonline.com/covers.html

No experience with this outfit, just had a bookmark for it.
