How long will motor run with.....

the 50/50 fuel cocktail mixed into the fuel seperator?. I winterized yesterday and mixed up the 50/50 fuel cocktail, pinched the inline fuel line and had da wife start er up. Ran for a few minutes then it slowly died. Tried to re-start a few times and again puderred a few times then dies. Is that sound about right?
When I went to change the seperator for a new fresh one, there was still some "cocktail" left in the fuel seperator which seemed odd. BTW, 502EFi

HP500EFI,
I did my MPI motor the same as you and had the same results. It stumbled and then died. About 1/3 of the fuel filter still had the mixture in it. Mine did not smoke which makes me wonder, but that is the only fuel that the motor had access to. I removed my line to the tank altogether.

Thanks guys for all the responses
I have done it this way for 3 years now and have never had a problem with it starting in the Spring or running hard during the season so I am guessing it is doing it's job but figured I would ask.

Hi,
Here in South Florida we generally prep them for winter with a Jack and Coke cocktail. While sipping the cocktail, we then hose off the deck, chamois it dry, run it the next day maybe to Bimini, or the Keys, maybe ?? and do the same thing, the next day, and the next, and the next.............................................. ...When it get's real bad weatherwise, like clear down into the low 70's, we put on a Tee shirt to avoid the cold
Yeah, I know, but just couldn't resist.
