Swapping from a single 1996 502 MPI with silent choice exhaust to a 2003 496 HO. Will it bolt right in?Enginemounts? Exhaust ports? Wishbone?

Man thats a mighty big price tag for 10hp and fresh water cooled. Does the 502 have problems because a 96 is not very old?

Yes, the 502 has major problems, bad compression, consumes a quart of oil an hour and it does not give more than maybe 350 hp. Basically I have given up on it.

HMMMM might be a good core to start on a Hi-Po rebuild?

mats, why not have a good shop go through that 502 and rebuild and blueprint it. A little head work and a cam change will give you 500 horsepower for a whole lot less than a new 496.

Warranty might be a consideration as well as stock reliability and the cloded cooling...But $4$, the 502 is more effective.

If you are looking to give away your old 502 oil leaking, low compression, tired 502 and worthless for trade in, let me know I might be interested.
