My personal experience over the last 30 plus years now is mild performance upgrades are hardly worth while. Speed gains are minimal. Some worked over oval port 269 runner aftermarket cast heads, cam, intake, carb and roller rockers will get you an easy 150 plus hp. Just cam intake and carb type deal just doesn't cut it as far as I'm concerned anyway. Maybe 30 to 40 hp gain which is fine if your just looking for 2 mph or so. All on what your end goals are.

Rly curious on what you have for sale but the page will not open. It just says page not found. Now on to the bad news... I started rly cleaning up the block and it’s junk. Someone must not have winterized it at some point and it cracked and they had it welded. Even worse news it’s cracking again and there a lot of stress cracks in it... not what I wanted to find.

Dane I don't relish in the fact that your 7.4L engine is trash. However it is a blessing in disguise.
Hopping up your engine would be expensive and the gains mediocre at best.
I too am a runabout owner and did a 7.4L MPI to 502 MAG MPI switch years ago and never looked back.
I am now 18 MPH faster and the total cost was about 5K. A mechanic did it all and if you have the facility
and knowledge to do the work yourself you can save $1000 - $1500.
Find a good take out 502/454 MAG MPI or a 496 HO or even one of the newest 502 Mags or HOs and
save yourself some headaches. Salvage and sell the parts from the hurt engine to offset costs.
OSO is not that "small boat friendly" so it does not surprise me that your thread is not getting the attention
it deserves. Too bad Speedwake is dying but it still has the best small boat hop up thread ever invented.
It's a good read filled with great ideas and results.
Microboats - can they run? - Speedwake 2.0

If you're wanting to end up with a dragster...I have a 256 blower/chiller setup for sale in the swap shop...couple that onto a 502 mag or 454 mag and you could easily double your stock 330 hp...just a thought
