Keep us updated with what you find out. I’m a little ways away from testing now. Getting ready to pull em again for steering pins.

I tried the airtex as well but didn’t like how the ke fit with it. I’m going to swap water pumps out with other engine to see if the problem follows. The more I’m reading, the more confident it may be the culprit. You wouldn’t suggest just changing water pumps, but fuel pumps too? I’ve always heard good about the KE lower.
What carbs are you running?

The sea pump is about the only thing I haven’t replaced yet so I’m hoping. Considering the other one is fine....I’ve got Holley 850’s

Well as for our findings, new airtex pumps and KE upgrades- dropped to under 2 psi just getting on plane and wouldn't hold over 3 psi at anything over 4000 rpm. we switched the pumps and KE upgrades back to the ones we ran last year. Held 7 psi getting on plane and never dropped below 5.5 psi at 5000 rpm. Still chasing a few hundred rpm but we will get there.
so don't assume that just because the pumps are new that they will be better.
