Raw water pump, which fitting is the inlet?

I have a Gen VI carbed 502 Mag with the raw water pump/fuel pup combo. Which port is the inlet from the drive, the top or bottom?

depemds on the rotation of your motor but the top goes to the out drive in a normal set up, unless some one here sais difrent of corse. Charlie

I put a X on the intake hose. this is a 98 gen VI 500hp and yes to the critics the motor mount has been changed to a offshore mount!
