Are you building the engine up yourself? Or you want to buy a new Long block?

I would not be opposed to a new long block. I am looking more for reliability than more power

I’d like to hear opinions about the ZZ502 shortblock for marine use, but that with a cam swap and some heads from ADK61 should be a stout and reliable package. Probably into it $10k at that point though.

well as you can see...the valvetrain is the weak link in a big block so I would spend the money there for reliability for sure...quality roller cam, lifters, and rockers....and a side effect of that reliability is power so its a win win lol

Isn't this a suitable replacement block for the power he wants?

If you do go with a stock bore I have some low hour JE forged flat tops free for the price of shipping.
