2003 496 mag ho serial number OM383059 fuel pump
folks,
apparentky the high pressure pump is no longer available and I have to replace the entire cool fuel assembly to the tune of $600 bucks. I'm sure you creative people have a lower budget work around. Does anyone have a part number for just the pump I need. It is related to service bulletin 861156a02 I'm on my way to the marina now.

BUP and Team,
I bought the MerCruiser kit. It worked perfectly and had everything I needed in the kit including the thermal paste and new system O-rings. It appears that the fuel line interface to the cooler has been redesigned. Not sure of the differences but it assembles the same and looks similar.
It was $590 bucks with the NY State taxes applied. I was not happy about the price, but I would be more unhappy if my bilge filled with fuel and blew us up. All in all I'm glad I went down this path as the boat is up and running like a fuel injected raped ape.
Thank to BUP for all the great internet advice. I learned a lot and spent a hot sweaty summer day getting intimate with my Big Block.
