Low hours ? how old is the boat and the engine ?? is the engine a rebuild currently or within the past year ?? If so whom did rebuilt it ? any invoices on that end ?? No compression test on a used boat ??
A boat that is 4 or more years old and only has 20 hours on it - then it sat around for a long time. Boats are better running than sitting around for years on end. Things deteriorate just sitting there in non use. Fuel systems / gas tanks / fuel lines / fuel cells / gaskets and so on sitting idle for years takes a beating. One is better off that a boat and engine has been ran within reason and one is better off buying a used boat that operated most of its run times at 70 to 75 percent of its duty cycle load. Usually that is around 3600 to 4000 roms for most marine engines

Oh, and holy ****balls. I just found the service records for when the port motor was pulled in 2016. Apparently at that time the cams were changed for solid lifter cams, and these solid lifter cams WERE A 4-7 SWAP like many people suggested earlier in this thread. I'm posting below.

White performance should look into something other than engine builds if all said to be true. Meaning if they 100% known fact they came from there originally. Piston to valve clearance. Wtf. Or were the lifters hydroplaning of the cam lobes from incorrect valve springs. Either way It sucks. They sell a lot on eBay assuming that's the same company. I believe they also have a happy dyno from the numbers I've seen with the components used. Just my opinion.
Regardless keep the info coming.

White did do the original builds in 2014. They looked up the seller's account and found the records, and saw no indication of any 4-7 swap cam, etc. When the port engine had a piston-valve collision in 2016, the decision was made to go with a solid roller cam with a 4-7 swap, and this was information I did not know until about 30 minutes ago when I found the service writeup from 2016.

Boat surveyor or house inspectors, not sure which is more worthless.
I do get a lot of business (weekly) from know nothing house inspectors thou.
This week a HVAC system failed a home inspector test (holding a paper towel against a return vent)
Anyway, never trust a guy named "Bubba"
