crossover kits
I don't think anyone would gain a noticeable amount of power by changing to a crossover. What you might gain is a little space in front of your engine and one less belt to worry about. There's really no reason you can't get to temp. Thermostats are offered for crossover kits. You just have to order the crossover with provisions for thermostat.
Good luck.

I ran a cross-over on a 502MPI for one year. I did manage to get the temperature up but it took a while to get the right size by-pass / drill size in thermostate. The motor still fluctuated temperature more than with the stock set up. I ended up going back to stock set up. If you run a electronic fuel injecton make sure you keep the temperature up to normal. I do run a straight by-pass system with NO thermstate in the blower motor. Two different animals.
Oh yea. Don't think you will see any noticable gains in performance.
