Default Black widow 30???

I was looking at a 89 black widow with twin ford 460s ..was wondering if this is a good boat or will the motors eventually be problematic for me ?

Being 30 years old, anything can be problematic.

I'm positive with the 460's It came with OMC king cobra drives on it. Not many people work on those drives. In my opinion I would steer clear of it. They can be problematic.

Or consider your offer accordingly.. As Cig 28 stated, not many people work on the OMC drive and parts are getting scarce

I consider any boat near twenty years old to need a full refurbish and new power, and then check off the boxes of anything positive.

The 496 is a great engine as long as you don’t plan on doing any mods to it, and yes, a single engine Bravo boat would be my recommendation. Parts and experience are plentiful and I’m so glad that I didn’t have twins on my first boat.
