The thru hull fittings came from CP performance or Hardin marine. The 45 degree threaded nipples came from summit racing.

I use a 3/8" dump out the side at the rear of the boat. As for dumping it on the drive like a shower a TRS circulates the gear lube in the drive from bottom to top so they really don't need a shower. You'll find there are very few drive showers on the market for a TRS, like 1.

Agreed picklenjim that the trs needs no help in cooling, just thought it couldn't hurt and it looks cool.

thanks for all he info. I think I’ll go with simple out the side option.

Do do you guys agree that in and out don’t matter on merctrans cooling lines?

Some of them coolers have fins on the U shaped copper tube. If you ever see one, snatch it up!

I have the one that Kirk from k.c.marine developed. It looks like a heat exchanger with about 10 small tubes running thru it. It works great I never see my oil temp go above 110-125 and that running at steady 4K rpms. Having the oil temp gauge and oil pressure gauge is a great thing to install you can keep an eye on the transmissions functions.
