Ok. I was thinking it may have come from a high altitude area but detonation can be caused by other things besides lean mixture. |

Update, tried firing the boat with ignition switched off and it sounded like it was skipping through 1 cylinder?? I believe that was the sound referenced before?

Northern Tool or similar stores will have a fairly inexpensive boroscope tool so you can view the pistons. You can also get one to use in conjunction with you phone. |
