Could do a compression and leak down check which would let U know where the engine health is, but I think it in serious need of a rebuild/replacement.

Gonna find a hole in piston I bet, probably broke valve or detonated, that blow by is all cylinder pressure in the video.

I would find a 350 merc for 500 and go boating while you fix this one gonna be a full rebuld I bet.

I have the Milwaukee and it definitely fits through the spark plug hole.

When you get that motor out make sure you put a bilge blower in.

Question... it seems like this engine is pretty high strung to get the power he enjoys. Would he be better off with a more mild set up and 177 huffer on top?

He'd be better off swapping to a mild 454/502.

needs some time and education first, he said he was not used to bigger power, start small and work your way up..

I agree. Whoever rigged it did a nice job, especially given the fact that it has a little age on it.
