I just dynoed a motor customer had built with the cheap factory dog bone lifters.630 lift, duration in the high 230s low 240s, buzzed it to 5800/6000 on dyno and never missed a beat. I dont know what spring pressures but stiffer than stock. Ive always been under impression they were done before that, Jimmy V specd these and says differently , since it worked, Im a believer, Smitty

I would like a part number for the lifters if anyone has it handy? Can't seem to find them?

I can’t find any part number for the lifters I’m using, and this is the closest I can find but have no idea if they’re the same ones I have. I’ve spun mine up to 5800 for a short time with no issues.

I do need the tiebar lifters so let's talk specifically about those please

Reason I'm looking long story short is I'm getting a tick in my freshly rebuilt motor and I think I have it narrowed down to a lifter either failing or just wore out not sure. They are comps that are in it and I think it's time to upgrade to something better.
Hey guys, OP has been asking about tie bar lifters.

As far as I know, many have been using the Johnson lifters, as Teague, Eddy Young, Isky, and others have been using/selling/etc instead of the Morels they all used to.

Well I reset lash on all the valves and it did help drastically but if you are very close to the engine listening for it you can hear a very very slight tick....At this point I have bigger problems so this issue will go on the back burner till the other issues are resolved...thanks for the info everyone!!

Took them down to zero lash by feeling pushrod/rotating it/moving up and down etc. then tightened the rocker arm another 3/4 of a turn. They were set at 1/2 turn from what I could tell so I went a little more just to make sure they weren't too loose. This was at the guidance of the engine builder...I have lost faith in them however I'm not made of money and they told me that if I did this the way they want me to then they will still warranty it.

just a fyi,the comp short travel lifter gets 1/4 turn past zero lash,if you go past that the valves will be off the seat at higher rpm,s.that will cause all kind of problems.
