We each get a $10 Amazon card every Christmas. I have saved up the last three so I can almost buy something. LOL
I'm not leaving here until they turn the lights off though.

Plus there is more valuable and correct info on here than all of the Facebook pages I've found combined. Ask a question here and you might only get 6 people replying but 5 of those people really know their stuff. Ask a question on Facebook and a hundred people might reply but you'll be lucky if one person knows wtf they are talking about. People answer on Facebook just to type something like they have some psychological need to do it regardless of how inane or inaccurate it is. OSO is not being replaced by Facebook, as OSO shrinks the the resource is being lost.

I'm not on Facebook but there is a public page I occasionally go to for entertainment purposes.
Someone recently had posted a meme that consisted of a picture of the Lion from the Wiz of Oz with the caption ..
'When I was a child I always wondered how someone without a brain could talk. Then I found Facebook'

I refused to join FB but a few friends said just do it for the boat stuff so I did, less than a week later a guy ( who doesn't hang out on boat forums ) with in an hour away from me comes and buys my engines, so I guess it was worth it, all I got on here was low ball offers.

Got a letter in the mail today notifying me that my subscription to Car Craft magazine is now null and void due to them closing Shop.
Add that to my subscriptions to:
Drag Racer
Bass and Walleye Boat
Power Boat
Hot Boat
Drag Illustrated
Popular Hot Rodding
etc
etc
I am old school and prefer info on my favorite sports/hobbies to be in print.
I spend enough time time on my computer and the internet during the day.
I remember the first go fast websites and their early struggles.
I also remember when they first started courting advertising and charging membership fees.
Also remember my friends that threatened to revolt that evolution.
They then realized what they were getting and paid.
Then slime book hit.
The outcasts went there and tried to start their own websites.
For free.
I followed and watched a couple of them.
Now from what I can tell, they have either adapted to the slime book “like us” mantra or died.
I choose to support those from the early days.
When my “renewal” comes, I always consider all the free tech help I’ve gotten over the past 12 months.
Oh yeah, then renew my membership.
From what I can tell, the readers that went to slime book are now back here and my other favorite sites.
Dont claim to be a smart guy (w/alcohol I do tell my friends that) but I called this in the beginning of the slime book revolts.
Hard enough to tell who are key board pilots on this site let alone on slime book where they all are.
