@flashgordon do you have a pic of your bracket? Part number of your pump? Thanks!

Bingo that has been a proven winner for over 30 years now. I use to be able to get the Bravo black plastic housing that had bigger openings from an aftermarketer. That housing was more solid plastic unit than Merc black plastic housing. It is no longer available. It pumped more water as well. it had about 12 % more water flow. Used the standard OEM bravo impeller as well.

I think its a little over $100 buck for the whole merc pump? Why bother I just replace the whole thing, was a spring thing when in Indiana just so I knew I didn't have to worry the rest of the season, down here IDK, every 100 hours. I burn way more in gas each day than two pumps.

I will say one weekend last year I changed mine 3 time!,,,,, but that was a brain fart weekend.

Who's got the best price for the factory merc pump?

BUP 02-18-2020 12:27 PM

the OEM kit is 100 bucks and someone will be posting a link to the cheap knock offs at 42 bucks. I would not use those because the impeller is junk.

The OEM Mercruiser kit you should not be able to find under 95 bucks. To be honest for dealers selling these online is not even worth it because at 95 bucks there is not much made on just a pump kit unless the order is other parts being bought. .

Assuming your talking about the older style pump kit search 46-807151A14. Can find them even at Walmart for $95 and change on line, free ship (appears to be coming from Busters marine thru Walmart)

If your talking newer or entire pump assemble, need to specify

BUP 02-18-2020 12:52 PM

correct like I said the OEM should NOT be online for less than 95 bucks in which I am glad that most are following these OEM policies.

I have them as well and IMO I would buy from whomever on this site that supports it and helps others.

Why give busters and Walmart and amazon the biz - they are not up here supporting nor helping the site.

What's the difference between the newer and older, one or two piece units? I'm building a new system, I need the entire pump.
