Mark do you guys also sharpen the hose clamps with an angle grinder like everyone else.. Just kidding. Seeing all those clamps reminds me of how I get cut by them every time I do work on the motor or bilge...lol...

I will probably.

Agreed! I look for "rolled edge" replacement clamps and try to keep rubber clamp tips installed.

On some clamps i just put a blob of silicone. Works pretty good, stays on.
Got a 2" long "cat scratch" from working on the motor yesterday. Haha.

Resurrecting and old thread...the same (starboard, outboard) cooling hose (starboard thermostat to exhaust manifold) popped off again today during a speed run.
I tried double hose clamps, but I believe that I really do not have enough pipe to get the second hose clamp to bite (So it probably put additional pressure on the one "good" hose clamp.
This time, I roughed up the metal with sandpaper and the used Permatex Black Gasket sealer and a hose clamp.
I am surprised that (with all these ~28 hose clamps on two motors) only this one seems to be giving me issues???
Does anyone have a link to a wider/stronger/upgrade for this hose clamp?

It looks like somebody possibly welded an an extension onto the end of that T. They normally have a lip on the end. I would have somebody weld a small ridge on the end

The picture is not of mine exactly but is a pretty good representative of what I have...I will consider this action. Thanks!

I do not know (no gauge, but I probably should have one) BUT two engines, two exhaust manifolds per motor and only this one has blown off...so I am thinking there is something unique/different about this side of the starboard engine.
