i would use a larger coil designed for distributer ign vs the ign1a which is designed for cnp

I understand that. I was just looking at the advantages of using an inductive coil over a capacitive coil. Unless the larger coil is inductive. During my research others talk about the benefits of the longer spark duration of an inductive coil vs the quick hitting of a capacitive coil. I may be off base because my needs will never exceed what I have. lol

Not sure Rookie. Haven't done that yet.

I can tell you that I was able to run the setup I posted with both a canister coil and a GM two plug coil. Was told the GM two plug wouldn't work and it worked.... lol I decided to use a canister at the end of the day.

Dyno'd the 454 yesterday with the Holley HP conversion. Long block is stock 454MPI Mag. It made pretty much what I expected out of the setup. For the majority of the tuning I was able to use the self-learn feature and saved a ton of time. Once done I set the learn parameters to 5% and I'll do the final tune in the boat and then turn self-learn off.

Nice! What is that combination? That appears to be the same #'s I'm looking for out of my engines. I have never dyno'd my combination, but assumed 560HP/580TQ on my builds. Soon to find out though.
Thanks!

Thus the 600+ lb-ft of torque and 560HP. I was thinking that was a lot of power for a 454 at 5000RPM and below. I was planning 5800. lol
