For anyone that needs to install pipe plugs with ‘allen head’ recesses, hex bolt heads fit right in the recess. So, get proper size bolt head and two nuts that fit threaded part of bolt.
Insert head of bolt into allen head recess and use the two nuts (jammed into each other if coarse) and wallah. Much cheaper and easier to find than
1/2 and 9/16 allen wrenches.

I saw your thread when I was starting mine but I could not tell what brand exhaust you had.
I have 1997 model year 502's so by reading your post you think they will fit better.
I am just looking to replace the cast iron manifolds with something newer and better but I don't want to open up a can a worms. The boat is all stock and very dependable and I don't want to sacrifice that.
Hope you get your install figured out.

You might need to modify the out drive reservoir location, but the oil filter locations would prob fit with the relocation brackets.
Here's how it mounted up on my 7.4L
I'd go with stainless marine too, but, the cost of it is almost double. You can almost get 2 sets of Seaward for the 1 set of SS. And dam, those are purty...

I got a couple of seasons out of a set that I flush religiously every day of use. They have the saltwater treatment and all. They sprung a leak out of the starboard manifold that shot straight out a burst of water. Thank god I noticed at idle. I was incredibly disappointed. I had hoped they were the wholly grail but not the case.
