You will be fine with any quality oil in the upper viscosity range. I switched to Amazon Basic 20w50 in my 525 after the oil did very well in independent testing. People swear by their favorite oils because they have never had a problem running them. Therefore you will get many different endorsements of oils because they all work well if changed often. Now go burn lots of cheap gas. It's all we have to do this summer!

I’ve done a partial tear down and checked bores they still look new. I also keep it in a temperature controlled garage. The crazy thing is that I’m still running the stock cooler and the oil gets to 280 running 80+ for any great distance. Thats the temp before the cooler. I’m just as worried about corrosion during the long winters and Amsoil is the best at fighting that.
Same experience here with the 15W50 Dominator. After I switched to roller cams I started running the dominator 8 seasons ago. I decided 50w oil might be a little tough on distributor gears so I switched to sae40 for one season. What I found with the Sae40 Vr1 is that it was cooking it and turning very black. I was using or burning quite a bit of the Vr1 so I switched back to the 15W50 dominator. No problems since and I run the wix racing 2qt filter as well. Hope this helps.

I like Dominator too. Its always cleaner when removed for oil changes. My oil pressure stays more consistent at idle after long runs as well.
