Some edelbrocks have 110cc chamber, some 118cc depending on the model. Even with the 110cc, youll likely be sub 9:1 with a flat top

A stock 454 with zero machining puts you barely over 8.6:1 with those heads. Use the summit calculator to help figure out where you’ll be.

Dont forget most bbc flat top pistons have about a 3 or 4cc valve relief

He would most likely have a 4.320 bore. Won't make much of a change though.

I just built 2 454's with the above mentioned cams. They sound great and seem to make good power. Merc 420's with upgraded HR cams. I will be running 87 octane with the little mini domes that were in the 420's.

Have Dana exhaust. How much dome will I need. The 12cc SRP’s or?. I’m open to a good proven recipe

GM’s ZZ502 crate engine uses those same heads with a similar CR to make 500+ hp. That cam sucks for marine use but the Crane 731 is slightly bigger and more marine friendly. That should get you where you need to be.
