All things being equal; temp under intercooler and boost, 200hp would mean the roots takes 200hp to turn over a whipple? It would also mean that my 548ci at 8psi would make 1200hp. It took 6800rpm and 13lbs of boost for your engine MIke to hit 1206hp. Just doesn`t add up. Eddie young did a back to back and got over a 100hp difference 10-71 vs 8.3 whipple. I`ll be happy with a 75hp . at the same boost level . |

you're running 8L Whipples aren't you ?

Okay, I`m starting to see why the Whipple is better , even thou the Banks test is kinda dumb because he ran the 10-71 dry and killed it , (no kidding it`s going to make more heat) I see his point of air density being much better with the Whipple since it makes boost inside the case vs, under the blower (10-71) and the it takes less power to turn .
Abones, I`m not sure on rotor angle. I should have some EFI 8.3l Whipples next weekend so it`s a moot point now :-) |

I’d guess somewhere around 1100-1200hp the 10-71 is done. |
if i remember correctly your rotors are 60 deg twist dan.

more power to turn and higher discharge temp combines to put out less HP. It’s not 200 extra hp going in to the belt

Doesn't this solve your 10-71 problem? An 8.3L Whipple in disguise. :)
