because the screw blower makes less heat than a roots blower you can safely run more boost and have less temp in the intake manifold.i am propped to turn 6400 rpm.dan,you have access to my dyno sheets.look and see the power output at 6400 rpm.i answered the question you asked,do with that information what ever you want with it.i dont recall saying that power output was at the same boost as the 8 lbs you are running with the 10.71s.just an fyi,on one of my engines i did some dyno pulls with a 16.71 and the whipple made 180 hp more than the 16.71.

Okay, I`m starting to see why the Whipple is better , even thou the Banks test is kinda dumb because he ran the 10-71 dry and killed it , (no kidding it`s going to make more heat) I see his point of air density being much better with the Whipple since it makes boost inside the case vs, under the blower (10-71) and the it takes less power to turn .

I should have some EFI 8.3l Whipples next weekend so it`s a moot point now :-)

more power to turn and higher discharge temp combines to put out less HP. It’s not 200 extra hp going in to the belt.

It won’t be a set amount, it will be worth more in the range where the 10-71 is maxed out and the whipple is still in its efficient range. I’d guess somewhere around 1100-1200hp the 10-71 is done.

if i remember correctly your rotors are 60 deg twist dan.

the screw blower does take less power to operate but other factors also come into play with the screw blower.i remember john force saying the 14.71 blower that he makes eats 1000 hp to operate at 8000 rpm.maybe that is why they do one warm up and one run per blower belt.
