Default K-Plane restoration

Have fit 280T K-planes to ski boat, although had to cut down the transom mounting plates, and fabricate new stainless actuator mounts (which not sure whether to polish, chrome, or paint )
need to decide whether to powder coat, polish the aluminium or 2-pak the K-planes
How well do they stand up to paint or powder coating
still undecided on colour of hull
whats suggested ?

I single stage painted my tabs and drives in 2010 and they held up great. I have seen an instance that powder coat has came off in a sheet on a drive.

Powdercoat or paint will hold up just fine. Both have plus' and minus'.
You really should not powdercoat the rams unless you disassemble them though.

the transom plates were corroded around the actuator mounts, so when reduced in height to fit transom position the plates don't look to bad, had to redrill the 2 holes into transom plates, and weld up the hydraulic trim bolt holes
not sure whether I'm going to replace the seals in actuators, they look fairly easy to do if I can order the correct kit
There are few marks on ram bolts, however polished the shafts with 1500 grit
I might give the painting a go

cheers
Brett
