In my formula 400 super sport I have a total of six batteries two directly run the stereo and amps that are both aftermarket installations the other battery runs the generator totally independent of any other battery but there are three batteries that kind of work together one is a house battery that runs all the lights and things of that nature the other two are engine batteries port and starboard respectively here's the problem the house battery and the starboard engine battery is hooked parallel the port battery is singular and not parallel or not within the series if you will is this normal because shooting the two engine batteries be parallel to each other and the house battery should be singular??

I would agree the house should be by itself, but could be combined in case its needed to help start the motor. If its stays parallel with the house you just have a larger bat
The engine bats should also be set up to parallel each other instead of using the house bat in case its needed to help start

Thanks again Dodge but here's my question how do I fix it a mechanic actually did this that I paid $90 an hour to do things and it just doesn't seem right to me however from what I was able to trace the cable for the port side battery is not long enough for some kind of way some battery cables are crossed up somewhere or can I just parallel all three of them and call it a day

The good and bad of paralleling bats. Good is you get a larger bat for more cranking amps. The bad is if one shorts a cell, it will take the rest of them down with it. Do wonder why the stereo needs 2 bats and house just one. I would have thought using 2 bats for house and stereo, and even a 3rd with the house only if the load was to much. Or even better yet just use Lithium Ion bats and not worry about the load
Not actually seeing/measuring what you have I'll say this. Can have a great mechanic but may not be a great electrician. How is the charging accomplished when running and on shore power?
I like using a solenoid to momentary battery paralleling. The switch is at the helm, so if it won't start, press another button and the solenoid combines the bats. Start the motor and then release the button and your good to go.
