Help with head choice needed

So you guys think the edelbrock heads had nothing to do with this happening. I like that answer. One thing I didn't mention before was prior to this happening the engine had a problem with the oil temp rocketing to 280+ if I ran hard at all. Could this also have been caused by water infiltration? I always thought maybe the seat pressure were too high, but not sure. I checked the clearances (plastigage) on the rods and mains last winter and they were perfect.n Ring gaps and piston clearances were good too.
On a different note, if I go with these rect port heads, would the cam grind need to be different? I was going to go with a comp cam 226/236 @.050 and .554/.547.

My advice would be to NOT port or machine your small oval port heads. I have done this to two sets and both cracked between the intake nad exhaust valves on #7 and #4
