Default 502 mpi swapped to 600hp carb

Hey guys I bought a 2001 32 fever with 502 mpi motors in it. Was water in the oil ( havnt investigate yet ) but had the opportunity to purchase fresh 600 hp 515. Looking for input on fuel delivery and ignition as I’m sure my factory stuff isn’t sufficient or not applicable for the new motors

distributor and coil from mpi can be used on new motor and your new motor I take it has no meh. fuel pump.so either get a low pressure electric carb pump or use a regulator w/ a high pressure igh volume pump.return fuel back to the tank.

The 502 MPI setup will support 600hp with a few modifications and the correct tune. No way I would ditch a fuel injection setup for a carb, but there are lots of people that do.

Engine shop talked me out if turning my 502 mpi into 540s said it would cost more than it’s worth

30 hp just in increased displacement. $425 difference in turning the old crank or a new stroker crank . New rods are about the same as rebuilt ones with new bolts. Pistons are a wash . And a 502 crank has some value, say $100? So the way I looked at it was for $325 additional I get 30 hp that doesn't require anything additional, no better fuel, no additional rpm . I felt it was a deal, curious how they did the math

The 1/4" of stroke gives a big gain in torque. Not to mention the gain in cubic inches. So you've got two plusses in the power game with a very simple change that's really not that expensive. HP is just a mathematical computation based on measured torque.
