HP 420 roller cam
I'm going to be swapping out my standard 330's for a fresh set of 420's in my 311 and I'm contemplating upgrading to roller cams while I'm at it. Seems the 731 cam is highly recommended but it appears that Crane has been shut down now that they are owned by same parent company as Comp Cams. What would be something that is comparable? I know the heads and intakes are not ideal but I'm not looking to upgrade those at this time. Also thought about giving Marine Kinetics a call but I'm not 100% sure if I'm going to pull the trigger on this yet and don't want to waste his time.
Mark IV block .030 over
roughly 9:1 compression
EMI exhaust
Factory Weiand intake
GM 990 heads (large rectangle)

Pretty sure Cam Motion could grid a 731 for you. The step-nose 500 EFI version would be a little better (230/236 .598/.610 114) than the 731 and you can use a Gen Vi retainer and timing set (very reliable and no cam button). Cost to have the cam ground would be about the same as off the shelf.

Thanks for the feedback. Based on Cam Motions website you wouldn't even know they did anything other than late model stuff. Not a single mention of BBC or anything. I'll give them a call this week and see what they have to say.
Thanks again!
