Did some testing with water before Installing the pan. 8qt in the pan the water level is almost parallel with the pan tray and In the add marking of the stick, stick reads full when 9.5qt In the pan, and the water level is 0.6" above the pan tray. Is this correct?

Too much oil will cause a loss of power and oil pressure issues. I would start with 8 qts.

THat opinion only matters coming from your spouse or boss.

Your being smart, taking the opportunity to know vs assume.

I’d remark your dipstick now that you know proper level.

Doesn't look like an OE dip stick to me, could be wrong for the pan ?
