Why not try switching carbs?

What rpm are they at in neutral and what rpm when put in gear?? What kind of carbs??
Probably just needs the idle air bleeds adjusted or maybe just the idle rpm. |

yes carbed motors, I just bought the boat and got her on the water yesterday. Timing was set few days ago by a local reputable shop. Boat sat for over two years prior.
Make sure that shop set timing by total timing method, not initial. Performance motors with spring type centrifugal advance some times are already advancing at idle. |

Two years of sitting for Holley carbs, the carbs will need to be pulled apart and cleaned. Easy peasy.. I do 5-10 a year. Just one last week. Ski boat, sat last year. Week before 502 w/BG 850. Litte over 12 months ?

I’ll pull it off giver a clean today! Thank you
Best way go set idle mixture screws are in the water, engine fully warned, and in gear. Typically best idle in neutral will need screws opened (counter clockwise) another 1/8-1/4 turn. |
