Default V-Berth Cushion Material Ideas?

I’m going to have some of my cabin reupholstered. Instead of going with back with vinyl for the v-berth cushion, anyone do something different as in using a different material? Or a custom made fitted sheet?

I don’t sleep on it often but when I do, I put a sheet over the cushion. If I don’t, I’m peeling myself off the vinyl the next day.
Photos would be great.
Thanks.

Look at a formula. They use ultra leather I think. It’s like an extremely soft vinyl. It’s reaaally nice. I like it so much I had my Marlago v-birth cushions remade with it too.

Ultra Leather. That's the ticket.
Go to a local upholstery shop, and ask to see all of their marine material sample indexes. Most shops are pretty friendly. I had Ultra Leather in my AT, and loved it. Soft, easy to clean, and fairly durable as long as you don't do anything stupid.

A few years ago when I was restoring a 1987 Mirage, I used automotive fabric for the berth cushions. My upholstery guy said they do have some UV and heat resistance as being made for an auto interior. It turned out nice.

I prefer anything easier (vynil) to clean... when (if) you get mildew, it must be a headache to clean in cloth...
but that's just me...

Thanks all for the replies.
My local guy recently retired so I’m not sure what to expect with the next local guy.

why not a zippered slip cover that you put on over the vinyl? Its washable, doesn't have to match as long as it's comfortable and should be easy to make and relatively inexpensive.
