In all my research if I were to go .842 I`d lower my spring pressures below 200# and go with Johnson lifters , or the isky which uses johnson body.
FYI, I`ve been running 225-235# spring pressures for 9 years. The Morel lifters didn`t care .. ran those for 7 years without an issue, same lifters and still working great when I took em out. Only reason I switched to the XD is because I thought the Morels were tired. The XD`s do not like nor are rated for the spring pressures I put to them.
Current Morel quality is not the same as those from 9 years ago thou.

Well, brake rotors did not fit the axel wheel studs, and I needed a 39/64 bit to enlarge them. So, I opened up the valve cover on one side of each engine. All I see are lifters with a retainer plate in there.

Yeh, i don’t know why gm lifters with dog bone lifters wouldn’t work with hp500 cam. With dog bones/the dogbones retainer , and such of course

msny haves used them with the lsrger crane 731 and 741.

Just throwing this out there.

Thanks for all input. Once I get the intake off and pull the lifters, I will give an update. I have looked at the GM lifters too. I am slow on this because of all the other end of the year stuff going on. Just need to spend the day and night out in the shop to get a couple projects done.

I would put the Chevrolet performance dogbone lifters back in it. I have used them to over .630 lift and 450# with no issues.

Thats what I've been using on my builds with 525 efi cams zero lifter issues.

Dog bone lifters. All looked good with some scuffing wear on the sides of the lifter body, Rollers are clean with no pitting, scratches or wobble. There are no numbers or other id's in the parts. I am assuming they are the original GM lifters. Some, 3-4 had some slight side to side movement on the roller axle, which has prompted me to look at replacing them. Johnson's are my first choice then I see they are about 800/set (16).

I looked at those yesterday. Pretty sure that's what is in there. A word of caution from an engine guy I respect. Lifters are not the same as they were a couple years ago. A lot are junk and who knows where they are made"

This is what I have always used on gen6 engines. There is no reason to deviate from them.
